The state and Centre governments have verbally agreed on this proposal and the Planning Commission will soon be studying its feasibility.

  • The metro will connect the ITIR and international airport, which are 13 km apart. The metro will also connect to the proposed High-Speed Rail Link (HSRL) linking Bangalore city to the airport
  • The state has already received investment proposals from 58 companies, seeking 917 acres, to set up their operations in the ITIR
  • Some of these companies include Infosys, Wipro, Tejas Networks and Cognizant
  • In the ITIR, 100 acres have been allotted to the KHB and 25 acres to private developers.

·         A 4 km-elevated highway will come up between the Hebbal flyover and Yelahanka bypass. There will also be flyovers at Yelahanka bypass and Vidyanagar, two pedestrian underpasses, one vehicular underpass, and a cattle crossing. Totally, there will be 26 bus bays till the airport.

·         According to a Karnataka Udyog Mitra (KUM) report, 26 IT SEZs planned in Devanahalli and Doddaballapur have got formal approval. A 225 acre airport based SEZ has received formal approval, and a seven acre cargo village has been planned within it for small freight forwarders
